Possible changes to the driving test

A little bit of news, the Dvsa are starting a new trial in may for the driving test, at selected test centres, we are not one of the centres,


These are the changes, let’s see how this works out


Less pulling up on the left - usually 3/4 times now 1/2 times


Only 1 in 7 emergency stops - usually 1 in 3


Whole test on sat nav for 35/40 mins - usually 20mins


Taking in more higher speed roads

With less stopping they’ll be able to travel further, as for higher speed roads, there’s not really many around here, possibly the new bypass at poulton (70mph), might even make it to back of singleton (60mph), when the test centre was more central (warbreck hill rd) we did go through poulton & singleton was also doable.


I’ll keep you updated of course when the trials are over & results produced.
